Season Achievements

The Biathlon Head Coach game emulates a traditional World Cup season. If you are a biathlon fan, then you are certainly familiar with all the types of competitions and awards in this sport. But here we will provide a list of them with some notes about their usual importance.

  • The Olympic Games are held every 4 years, and the medals won there are valued the most.
  • The World Championship is a special competition that is held once a year (if there are no Olympic Games). It is valued more than the regular cup competitions of the season.
  • The World Cup usually contains 9 competitions during the season
info

We use the following terms:

  • Race: A single event, which can be a Sprint, Pursuit, Individual, Short Individual, Mass Start, Relay, Mixed Relay, or Single Mixed Relay.
  • Competition: Consists of several races held at one location during a specific period.
  • Season: Comprises multiple competitions (usually 10-11) conducted from November to March each year.

Finally, the typical season contains 10-11 competitions (Olympics or World Championship + 9-10 World Cups). In addition to medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places), participants receive Cup points which takes into account for the following Awards:

  • Nations Cup - teams award, determines the best Team Country for Women and Men separately. Place in Nations Cup standing influences on team quota for the next season (how many participants can be for each race).
  • Crystal Globe - personal award, determines the best biathlete for Women and Men separately.
  • Race Type Globe - separate awards for different types of races: Sprint, Individual, Pursuit, and Mass Start (personal awards) and Relay and Mixed Relay (team awards).
  • Under 23 Globe - personal award, determines the best biathlete under 23 years for Women and Men separately.

Ministry Of Sport Expectations

Before each season, the Ministry of Sport has expectations for your Women's and Men's teams. After each race and at the end of the season, you can see the Ministry of Sport's reaction: Ministry Reaction First Race

What is the difference between expectations and reactions regarding a Season, Competition, and a Race?

Season Expectations

Ministry of Sport's reaction to your season achievements depends on:

  • Place in Medals Standing for the main competition of the season - Olympic Games or World Championship (this has highest priority)
  • Place in Total Medals Standing based on all competitions of the season
  • Place in Nations Cup
info

The Ministry of Sport takes into account possible improvements of your team members during the season. So, if your team is 3rd in virtual pre-season rating, but could be 2nd by the end of the season, Ministry of Sport will expect your team to be 2nd. That's why it's Season and Competition reaction for the first races of the season can be worse than the reaction for the last Race.

Competition Expectations

It is calculated in the same way as Season expectations and reactions, but only races from the current competition are taken into account.

Race Expectations

Race expectations and reactions from the Ministry of Sports differ, because it take into account the situation before the current race only. For example, if most of the other team members (possible opponents) have low strength and/or mood before the next race, some of your team members might become favorites of the Race. In this case Ministry of Sport will expect better results from the Race than from the full Competition/Season, and the reaction will be more restrained.

info

Currently Ministry of Sport's reaction just indicates your progress as the Head Coach. But in the future, it might influence the career, for example, in case of a bad season reaction, the Head Coach might be fired and have to change the team.
